Fontaine’s studio overlooks the marshland of Charleston’s Lowcountry. She relies on charcoal sketches and inspiration from plein air paintings for the intensity of light and value changes in her work. She paints on Venetian plaster with water-based paint, dry brush, palette knife, and oil glazes, finished with varnish and buffed wax.
Fontaine is a member of Oil Painters of America, the American Impressionist Society, American Women Artists, and Women Painters of the Southeast.
Fontaine is represented by Huff Harrington in Atlanta,
Camellia Art in Hilton Head, and Shain Gallery in Charlotte.
